Val Wyatt Marine is dedicated to getting people boating, and has been since its creation as a family business in 1845. We now offer you the experience and security that comes with being one of the most established and well known Brokers and Agents for motor boats in the UK.
As the most recent members of a family that has been running Val Wyatt for nearly four decades, my husband Ben and I have continued to evolve what’s on offer. At our heart is our picturesque marina, which is our base for all sales and offers a unique home for your boat – and a peaceful place to visit.
The Thames & Kennet Marina is based just outside Reading in a nature reserve and incorporates a narrow boat and cruiser marina. With the ability to cater for a number of types of boats, including Dutch barges, the facility is unique in the area and has the best access to the Thames River and Kennet canal. As a new facility, all amenities are up to date and as a part of the Tingdene Group of companies, standards are always high and maintenance and development ongoing.
Racecourse Marina (formerly RYB) has a wonderful countryside setting in the heart of the Thames Valley, with easy access from the M4, M25, M3 and M40. Our entrance is via a short millstream located on the left hand side of the river travelling upstream 500 yards above Boveney lock.
It makes a perfect central location from which to explore the Thames. Add to that the range of quality services and easily accessible facilities on offer, and you have the perfect base for all your yachting and motor boat needs.
Built in 1997 Frouds Bridge Marina on the Kennet & Avon Canal is situated about half way between Newbury (11 miles) and the River Thames at Reading (12 miles) and provides all the amenities that boaters now require.
To find us by road, turn South into Frouds Lane off the A4 trunk road about 1 mile to the east of Woolhampton village.
After crossing the railway and canel bridges turn right into our entrance between the converted farm buildings and follow the road to the marina.
Bray Marina is situated in a country park setting, providing berth holders with a delightfully tranquil mooring. From the marina there is direct access to the Thames and there are extensive well-maintained facilities available for all boat owners.
There are many attractions in the vicinity. Upstream is the National Trust property, Cliveden, with its extensive gardens and woodlands. Cookham is home of the Queen's Swan Keeper, who can sometimes be seen in his traditional costume. Further on still is Hambledon Mill; from here the river is navigable as far as Lechlade.
