Chatham Maritime Marina (MDL) Situated on the River Medway in Kent, Chatham Ma ritime Marina is at the heart of a multi-million poun d leisure and retail development that's set to beco me a major waterfront attraction. Currently the ma rina has 310 berths and is close to a factory outlet shopping complex, a water activities centre as well as a pub and restaurant, which provides a pictures que watering hole. The marina provides the perfect base from which t o explore the surrounding area. The Medway Estua ry offers excellent cruising in the lower reaches, w ith many secluded anchorages, perfect for lazy lun ch stops.
The river is navigable for around 13 miles from its mouth at Sheerness to Rochester. For boats drawi ng no more than two metres, the possibilities are even greater. Further up, past Allington Lock, the ri ver meanders through delightful countryside to Ma idstone and Tonbridge. From the Medway itself lie s the wider cruising area of the East Coast and its r ivers, while Holland is just 80 miles away.
Adjacent to the marina is the historic Chatham doc kyard, while the attractions of Chatham, Gillingham and Rochester are only minutes away. Access is e xcellent, with direct road links to the M2 and Centr al London just 40 minutes away by rail.
