Weymouth Harbour is centrally located on the South Coast of England at the Heart of the Heritage Coast which is a World Natural Heritage site, offering a unique opportunity to view this if visiting the area by sea and making it an ideal place for visiting sailors to stop.
As well as permanent moorings in the centre of the town a short walk from all facilities, its geographical position makes it an ideal stop-over for international voyagers. It is the ideal sailing destination for you to moor and explore Weymouth, the Jurassic coastline and the neighbouring countryside, as well as providing a safe haven from the predominantly south westerly winds.
Weymouth also enjoys one of the lowest tidal ranges in the UK, allowing for safe and easy access at all states of the tide and if you are looking to relocate your boat our permanent berthing is one of the cheapest around.
Sited around the harbour you'll find the local fish market, ships chandlers and numerous restaurants, bars and cafes - many alfresco - offering a wide variety of menu choices from traditional fish and chips to fine dining experiences. Other things you can see and do include watching the historic Town Bridge lift, visit one of the many harbourside attractions or take a local boat trip. Festivals and events take place throughout the year both in around the harbour - even on Christmas Day!
As well as the Isle of Portland, heading further afield are the picturesque harbours of West Bay and Lyme Regis, whilst to the east of Weymouth lies the famous arch of Durdle Door and the picturesque Lulworth Cove. Weymouth Harbour is also the closest port on mainland England to Cherbourg, St Malo and all of the Channel Islands.
