There are many attractions in the vicinity. Upstream is the National Trust property, Cliveden, with its extensive gardens and woodlands. Cookham is home of the Queen's Swan Keeper, who can sometimes be seen in his traditional costume. Further on still is Hambledon Mill; from here the river is navigable as far as Lechlade.
Bourne End Marina is situated on the Thames between the towns of Maidenhead and Marlow with pontoon river moorings for boats of varying dimensions. The town of Bourne End has a railway station linking to the Great Western region (Paddington to South Wales and the West Country) at Maidenhead.
Bourne End Marina was totally redeveloped during the years 2003/04 and now boasts floating pontoon moorings, as you would expect of a prestigious marina facility.

Bates Wharf Marina is situated amongst open meadowland where boats are moored on individual pontoon and bank moorings. Water points and containers for rubbish are situated at various points in the marina.
A Hard Standing Area allows parking space during the season and is available for boat maintenance for marina customers during the winter months.
The Crane is available for lifting anytime Monday/Friday with a minimum of 24 hours notice.
Electricity is available to every berth, subject to the payment of the availability charge.
Tucked away at the head of Galmpton Creek, Dartside Quay lies some three miles up river from Dartmouth. In a sheltered position and with beautiful views across to Dittisham, it offers extensive facilities along with a chandlery.
The 7 acre dry boat storage area has space for over 300 boats and is serviced by a 65 ton hoist, one of the largest in the area, which operates from a purpose-built dock. There is also a 16 ton trailer hoist operating on a slipway.
Cuxton Marina on the River Medway, overlooks beautiful unspoiled countryside and is about three miles upstream from the historic city of Rochester.
Unusual amongst the other marinas on the river, Cuxton Marina has its own in-house marine engineering company and so can offer a wide range of services to customers.
